After a bit of a break CF is starting up again in Epping Forest.

We seek to arrange social events with a political side to them. We’ve got a trip to Prime Ministers’ Questions coming up and we get subsidised entry to Association events, providing an opportunity to meet Conservative MPs, including shadow cabinet members.

And if you want to get elected we're keen to help you: one of our members is a councillor on Epping Forest District Council and a number of our former members are now MPs.

The Youth Movement with a New Agenda

Conservative Future (CF) is the youth branch of the Conservative Party. If you are under 30 you will automatically become a member of CF when you join the Party, ensuring you get to meet other people of the same age.

Joining CF will be a good start if you want to become more actively involved in politics. CF offers you regular chances to hear members of the Shadow Cabinet speak, and there are subsidised social events that have, in the past, included hiring West End clubs, drinks receptions at embassies and meetings in the Palace of Westminster.

Not only that, but you also get all the benefits of being a member of the Party in Epping Forest. In the recent past, David Cameron, Iain Duncan Smith and William Hague and Michael Gove have all spoken locally; there will be several opportunities throughout the year to meet our local MP Eleanor Laing; and we have a few social events during the year just for CF members.

And, as a member of the Conservative Party, you are entitled to vote in elections to decide who will be the Party Leader.

Background To Conservative Future
Conservative Future (CF) was launched at the Conservative Party’s Conference in 1998 after the Party had gone through a series of reforms. CF combines the three long-standing previous youth organisations – “The Young Conservatives”, “Conservative Students” and “Conservative Graduates”. Anyone under 30 years of age who joins the Conservative Party automatically becomes a CF member.

So, Who Are You And What Do You Do?

Ben Glassman Epping Forest CF chairman said, We are a growing group of young people who aim to break down the barriers of politics; to make politics more relevant and approachable to young people and to provide an opportunity for young people to join the Conservative Party. We want to keep you informed about matters that affect you and get to know what you think about today’s key issues. Many young people today feel alienated and apathetic towards the political system and believe that their opinion doesn’t really matter to politicians – yet this could not be further from the truth. Conservative politicians rely on the work on Conservative Future to get to know what you want and need and we provide many opportunities for you to tell them direct.

Why Should I Join?
Broadly speaking, you should join us if you are a supporter of the Conservative Party, or curious to learn more. Believe it or not the Conservative Party has the most active youth movement of all the political parties. It is important that you remember, Conservative Future is run by young people, for young people, to represent the views of young people. We don’t take ourselves too seriously – we’re simply here to enjoy ourselves with a group of like-minded friends.

If you believe in principles like freedom, enterprise, responsibility and the nation state, then why not join? Becoming a member is easy. Whether you want to become actively involved and join one of our committees or just wish to receive our newsletters and information about events, there is something for everyone.
